[ she stares at him, a level expression that doesn't quite betray what she's thinking. which is infuriated, and maybe a little hurt. the blunt order feels unfamiliar, now, for some reason. why? it isn't as if anything has changed, in terms of their relationship. except it has, and sternly telling her it was his way or nothing at all is something he shouldn't say anymore.
it's also stupid, because he won't be able to find it by himself. and he knows that, and he knows that she knows that, and so giving her an ultimatum isn't fair. because inej would never allow him to navigate the rooftops by himself, without her guidance.
so she says nothing, instead turning her attention back to her shoulder. but she doesn't necessarily have to say anything, because her anger (and maybe a little bit of hurt) fills the room with a stinging silence as she begins to tug the strap of her tank top out of the way to see.
he's already made up his mind. so he can fetch the damn map himself. ]
