kaz doesn't need to know any of that, though, and she's relieved he changes the subject. mostly because while inej can lie through her teeth in order to survive, she's not good at hiding things from him. with the exception of her mark, which was really only hidden because kaz never bothered to ask her about it in the first place.

inej frowns a little, at her reflection in the mirror. she looks tired, with dark circles under her eyes. new scars, and wounds. she never thought she would be wishing for something as basic and simple as a gang scrap, but kicking one of geels' men off the roof sounds like a vacation in comparison to the last month. ]
