[ his arm wraps around her and she’s tugged into the bed without any resistance, grinning a little as she makes herself comfortable, lazily draping her legs over his.

truth be told, this is her favorite part of intimacy. the aftereffects, the quiet cuddling, and falling asleep warm and happy and content. ]

[ Once her legs drape over his, he seems to settle more easily, eager to fit into their usual routine. This is how they've been sleeping for years now–how strange to think, how lovely to know–and it always calms him down.

[ She curls closer, using his shoulder as a pillow, and he gives her a squeeze, full of affection. Drowsiness seeps in and he's not sure if it's because of what they'd been up to a few moments before or if it's just his usual reaction to having her pressed to his side like this. As though he's been conditioned over the years.

Can't argue with that. [ His words are slurred at the ends. It's a struggle to stay awake—he's too relaxed and content. ] If we leave some windows open, we'll get the sound from the ocean.

[ Right now the light waves are just a dull roar, the glass muting most of it. Still, it's enough to drag him further into sleepiness, mind focused on the white noise. He turns his head to press a kiss to the top of hers and then letting out a slow, quiet sigh. ]
